Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas is set to take part in a 10-mile sponsored walk to the Blue Square Premier home match with Altrincham on 31 October.
He is joining fans who are walking from Kidlington to the Kassam Stadium in aid of the supporters' '12th man fund'.
"Someone asked me if I would walk the first mile or the last and I said 'why don't I do the whole thing?'," Thomas told BBC Oxford.
"I think it will be fun and a good way to raise some money."
The supporters initiative has already provided the funds to sign Crawley forward Jamie Cook and Thomas said: "It's an excellent fund, it was developed by the fans for the club and so far it seems to be going from strength to strength.
"I looked at the website earlier today and there are so many activities it brings a smile to your face."
