Patterson has seen his side concede in all but one game this season

Oxford United manager Darren Patterson has urged his team to tighten up defensively, if they are to climb the Blue Square Premier table.

The U's have only kept one clean sheet all season, at home to Woking, and Patterson told BBC Oxford they have to improve at the back.

"It is starting to grate on me, people will say I am nitpicking but it's all about standards," he said.

"If we kept clean sheets we will win games with what we have going forward."
