Oxford midfielder Adam Murray has revealed the ambition of the club and manager Darren Patterson were big factors in persuading him to stay.

The 26-year-old, who was wanted by a number of clubs, signed a new two-year deal earlier this week.

Murray told BBC Oxford: "I can see what the gaffer was trying to build, that showed towards the end of the season.

"I can see Oxford going places. I don't want to make the mistake of jumping ship now and regretting it later."
