Dempster moved to Oxford at the same time as Andy Burgess | Oxford United have parted company with defender John Dempster, who has left the Kassam Stadium by mutual consent. The 23-year-old, whose contract was due to expire in the summer, is expected to complete a permanent move to Kettering Town, where he has been on loan. The ex-Scotland Under-21 international joined Oxford from Rushden & Diamonds in January 2006. He has since made 24 appearances, but had been unable to win a regular place under Jim Smith this season.
