Oldham captain Sean Gregan has signed a contract extension to keep him at Boundary Park until 2010/11.
The 35-year-old defender was released last summer only to be brought back weeks later by boss Dave Penney.
Assistant manager Martin Gray told the club website: "Sean's performances have been of the highest level and he has been our most consistent player."
Gregan added: "I am delighted to have signed. It is now about getting some results on the pitch."
Guisborough-born Gregan joined Oldham in 2007 from Leeds United after a successful loan spell.
He was previously with Darlington, West Bromwich Albion and Preston North End, where he made 255 appearances.
