Ravenhill joined County in May on a free transfer from Darlington
Notts County midfielder Ricky Ravenhill is set to miss Saturday's friendly with Nottingham Forest after picking up an ankle injury against Arnold on Tuesday.
Magpies manager Ian McParland said: "Ricky got a nasty whack on Tuesday and I don't really want to risk him.
"The lad thinks he will be OK but I'm not going to risk him because we have games next week against Derby and Liverpool he can get involved in."
County have doubts over Matt Hamshaw (toe) and Luke Rogers (hamstring).
McParland added: "I think Luke's hamstring is a bit sore because of all the hard work we have been doing over the past fortnight, and previously he hadn't been training with anyone.
"Hammy has a toe problem, which is a bit of a freak one actually, because we think he got an insect bite which has caused a problem."
New signing Lee Hughes should make his debut for the club, and new director of football Sven-Goran Eriksson is expected to be at Meadow Lane to see his side in action for the first time.
