Notts County have signed Darlington midfielder Ricky Ravenhill.
The 28-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Magpies and has put pen to paper after finalising his departure from the troubled Quakers.
Boss Ian McParland said: "To attract someone of Ricky's calibre is a good sign of what we want to bring in.
"He is a genuine midfielder and the type we were missing last season. He is full of energy, likes to get his foot in and he can play the game."
Ravenhill has spent the past two-and-a-half years at Darlington, who are in administration, after previous spells at Grimsby and Doncaster.
Darlington made their whole squad, bar teenager Josh Gray, available on free transfers last week.
McParland has also revealed that he is hopeful of hearing back from a couple more prospective signings before the end of the week.
"I said getting the first one on board was important," he said.
"To strike a deal with Ricky is a massive bonus for us; I've been very determined to get him on board."
