Notts County are almost certinaly going to be without midfielder Gavin Strachan for the rest of the season.

Strachan, 29, damaged medial knee ligaments in a midweek friendly against Chesterfield and was forced off the pitch after an hour.

Assistant boss Dave Kevan said: "Gavin twisted awkwardly and damaged his knee. It's a massive blow."

The Scot had only just returned to action after seven weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
