Notts County have started talks with Nottingham rugby club about extending the current groundsharing agreement into next season. The National One side's deal to play their home matches at Meadow Lane expires at the end of the season.
The Magpies are awaiting a written proposal from the rugby club following the first round of talks.
Nottingham moved out of their home of 100 years - Beeston's Ireland Avenue - in 2005.
