Notts County manager Steve Thompson says new signing Lee Canoville is the ideal man to help ease the problem created by Mike Edwards' injury. Edwards faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his right leg and dislocating his ankle.
But Thompson told the club's official website: "Lee's a good player who I have seen many play many times.
"He can play right-back or centre-back, he is familiar in both positions, he is mobile and is also a good athlete."
Thompson added: "We've been looking for someone with a bit of versatility and who is also quite mobile with a bit of pace."
