John Gannon has been appointed assistant manager at Notts County, following the arrival of new manager Steve Thompson on 12 June. Gannon, who played alongside Thompson in the Sheffield United side of 1989/90, was previously Keith Curle's assistant at Mansfield Town.
"John is a former First Division player and knows the game," Thomspon told the Nottingham Evening Post.
"He is a great coach, hard-working, and conscientious."
