Billy Davies keen to extend Aaron Ramsey's Forest loan

Aaron Ramsey
He has been a pleasure over the last fortnight. He has settled in very well and is itching to play

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies hopes to extend Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey's loan stay when his current deal expires in early January.

"That is a possibility," Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham. "When we get closer to the time, we will look at it.

"That would be nice because he is an exceptional talent."

The Wales international midfielder, 19, initially joined until 3 January but has only played 29 minutes because two matches have been postponed.

Arsenal wanted Ramsey to gain match fitness after a lengthy spell out with a broken leg sustained playing for the Gunners against Stoke City in February.

And Davies hopes Ramsey's lack of action since joining towards the end of November will count in Forest's favour.

Davies added: "He would be a superb player for Forest to have [for a longer period] but the most important thing is to enjoy the period we have with him and once we get closer to January, we will look at it.

"He has been a pleasure over the last fortnight. He has settled in very well and is itching to play."
