Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has laughed off claims that defender Kelvin Wilson has gone on strike.

Davies told BBC Nottingham Sport: "Kelvin has been carrying a shin injury so it's difficult for him to go on strike when he's injured.

"He was outstanding last season and is very much part of our long-term plans."

But Davies did confirm there has been interest in the 24-year-old centre-half amid constant speculation that SPL side Celtic are keen to sign him.

"There has been lots of speculation regarding Kelvin and Celtic," Davies added.

"I am very much aware of interest for not only Kelvin but one or two other players at the club and that is ongoing."
