Julian Bennett returns after 14-month injury lay-off
Bennett has played more than 100 games for Forest
Nottingham Forest left-back Julian Bennett returned to action for the reserves on Tuesday after more than 14 months out with a knee injury.
Bennett played 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly against Coventry City at the Forest academy.
The 25-year-old was part of a strong Reds side and came through unscathed, but he is still thought to be several weeks away from first-team action.
Bennett damaged ligaments against Doncaster Rovers on Boxing Day 2008.
The defender joined the Reds from Walsall in January 2006.
He has started 99 games for the club and was the first-choice left-back at the time of the injury.
Forest have struggled to cope in Bennett's absence with Joel Lynch, Chris Cohen, James Perch and loan signing Nicky Shorey all used in that position this season.
