Moussi steps up Forest comeback

Nottingham Forest midfielder Guy Moussi took another step on his road to recovery when he played an hour of a behind-closed-doors match on Tuesday.

The Frenchman, 24, has been out for four months with ankle ligament damage, but appeared to come through unscathed.

He could return to the first team at Reading on Saturday, but boss Billy Davies says it would be premature.

Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's not ideal, but we may have to play him because of the situation."

Davies felt forced to bring Paul Anderson and Robert Earnshaw back early after injury in last week's defeat by Derby County.

"Robert Earnshaw was three weeks away from first-team football. Paul Anderson was four weeks away from first-team football," Davies said.

"Don't be kidded, Guy Moussi is four or five weeks away from first-team football. We're having to do what we're doing because of the position that we're in."

The Reds are without captain James Perch for the trip to Reading. He starts a two-game ban for collecting 10 yellow cards.
