Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Colin Calderwood following their 4-2 home defeat by Doncaster Rovers.
The Reds' first team coach David Kerslake has also left the club.
"We're grateful to Colin for his efforts over the last two and a half years," said Forest Chief Executive Mark Arthur.
"But we're in a result business and it's imperative that the club stays in the Championship."
"We need to give ourselves every opportunity to do that."
Forest are currently one point adrift of safety in the Championship, in 22nd place.
