Calderwood keen to stay at Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood has told BBC Radio Nottingham he will not give up his job without a fight.

Recent newspaper speculation has linked Billy Davies and Sam Allardyce with the Forest manager's position.

"It's a fantastic job and I can understand why other people would want it," Calderwood said.

"I don't want to relinquish it too easily but I think we'll get a good response from the players and if we get a victory we're moving forward again."

Calderwood said: "I'm obviously aware that there has been something in one or two papers but it's not so important to me.

"I know what we've got to concentrate on and that is Barnsley, so why worry about what people are writing?

"You just continue to do your job and feel that the group you've got will progress and keep you in it."

Forest have won only two of 19 league matches and are six points adrift of safety in the Championship.

"In our position in the league you've got to expect that there will be that speculation.

"If you look at the league table virtually everyone above us has changed their manager, so you'd be foolish not to think that might happen but you knew that when you went into the job."
