Garner scored 14 goals for Carlisle United last season
Nottingham Forest striker Joe Garner will miss the reserve game with Walsall on Tuesday due to illness.
The 20-year-old, who appeared in the Reds' friendly against Ireland last week, was set to continue his recovery from a knee injury.
Forest manager Colin Calderwood said: "Joe has had a stomach bug and has not been well over the weekend so there's no point playing him against Walsall."
Garner has been sidelined injury since joining Forest from Carlisle in July.
Midfielder Paul Anderson, who is returning from injury, is expected to start Tuesday's reserve match.
And Lewis McGugan, who has missed the last nine matches for the Reds due to a thigh injury, is expected to come on as a substitute.
