Norwich City's Andrew Crofts among best, says Ward

Crofts will miss Tuesday's trip to Millwall through suspension

Andrew Crofts has been hailed as one of the Championship's top midfielders by Norwich City team-mate Elliott Ward.

Crofts, 26, put in an all-action display in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Burnley, finishing with an assist, a goal and a red card to his name.

Ward told BBC Radio Norfolk: "His work rate is unbelievable, he's got to be up there with the best in the league.

"He's come from League One, stepped up to the mark and got better and better. I've got nothing but praise for him."

Welsh international Crofts joined the Canaries from Brighton in the summer and has since gone on to establish himself in Paul Lambert's first team, featuring in all 15 league games this season and notching four goals along the way.

But his sending off at the weekend, courtesy of two yellow cards, means he will sit out Tuesday's trip to Millwall through suspension.

"It's a shame, he'll be a big miss," added 25-year-old Ward.

"He breaks things up and he's scoring goals and we're going to need that."
