Grant Holt doubtful for Norwich City opening match
Holt joined Norwich from Shrewsbury 12 months ago
Norwich City striker Grant Holt could miss Friday's fixture with Watford because it clashes with a court date.
The 29-year-old is due to stand trial at Market Drayton Magistrates' Court in Shropshire on the same day as the Championship opener.
Former Shrewsbury player Holt denies failing to give the identity of a driver in an incident in May 2009.
Magistrates were asked to postpone the case but the request was rejected after opposition from the prosecution.
If the striker is to feature against the Hornets he will have to complete the 200-mile journey from Shropshire to Norfolk in time for kick-off (1945 BST).
Holt's disjointed pre-season, which has seen injury hamper his pursuit of match fitness, had already cast a doubt over how much of a part he would play in City's first game since returning to the Championship.
