Norwich City chief executive David McNally says "Paul Lambert's genius" was the key to the club gaining promotion to the Championship.
Addressing thousands of Canaries fans at City's open-top bus parade, McNally said Lambert had a winning mentality.
He told BBC Radio Norfolk: "It's like any other great man in football whether it's a Ferguson or an O'Neill, Paul is very driven.
"He eats, sleeps and drinks Norwich City. He thinks about little else."
He added: "He's got this absolute desire and hunger to win every single football match."
McNally brought Lambert to Carrow Road in August 2009 - the two men had previously worked together at Celtic.
Thousands of Norwich City fans lined the streets on Thursday to see the team go past on an open-topped bus to celebrate their title win in League One.
"It's all about those that pay - our fantastic supporters - and those that play and the players have been magnificent," McNally added.
"Since Paul Lambert took charge, we've won two out of every three league games and that's simply astonishing."
