Norwich boss Paul Lambert was impressed by former captain Gary Doherty and Chris Martin in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Leyton Orient.
Striker Martin opened the scoring nine minutes after coming off the bench and out-of-favour centre-back Doherty was man of the match.
Lambert said: "[Gary] hasn't played for a long time but he did great - you have to earn your right to be in my side.
"Chris's goal was a huge goal for us - it was a terrific finish from him."
Meanwhile Canaries defender Michael Spillane said he was delighted to have scored his first goal for the club in Tuesday's win.
Spillane, who made his debut back in January 2006, said: "We've done a lot of shooting in training recently so I'll put it down to that.
"The way we played, it always looked like we were going to score and in the end our quality really did shine through."
Since coming back from his season-long loan at Luton last year, Spillane has started five games for the Canaries and impressed in a number of positions.
"I'm just glad to get my first goal for Norwich - I've had a few cleared off the line, so I'm glad it went in.
"When I play right-back I enjoy getting forward and getting on the ball - I like to play good football."
Jon Otsemobor is still a doubt for the game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday so Spillane is likely to fill in again at at right-back.
