McVeigh has 15 international caps with Northern Ireland
Paul McVeigh will play for Norwich City in their League One campaign after he signed a one-year contract at the club.
The forward has been training with the squad in recent weeks and has scored two goals in pre-season friendlies.
McVeigh told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I'm delighted. I just came here to train and now I've been offered a contract, I'm really pleased."
McVeigh scored 40 goals in his previous seven years with the club and has also played for Northern Ireland.
Manager Bryan Gunn has been impressed with the 31-year-old during pre-season training.
"He's worked really hard. He's shown all the attributes you'd expect from a player of Paul's calibre," Gunn said.
"He's impressed not only me, but also [assistant manager] Ian Butterworth and [first team coach] Ian Crook in his pre-season work. He's worked hard to get this contract."
McVeigh made a total of 236 appearances for Norwich City between 2000 and 2007.
City's next pre-season friendly is against a Manchester United XI on Saturday 25 July.
