Gunn previously worked in the club's commercial department
Norwich manager Bryan Gunn apologised to the team's supporters after the Canaries were relegated to League One.
"The club and the supporters have been let down," said Gunn after his side's 4-2 defeat at Charlton. "It's devastating, but we have to fight back.
"To go out on a pitch and capitulate like that is not good enough.
"I need to find out which players want to represent us in League One, I want to be involved and I will be speaking to the owners over the next few days."
Gunn, a popular figure at Carrow Road in his time as goalkeeper from 1986-98, took over from Glenn Roeder in January with the team fourth from bottom.
His first match in charge resulted in a 4-0 victory over Barnsley but the club are now in the third tier of English football for the first time since 1960.
"It's a gut-wrenching experience, I had it in 1995 as a player and today was no different," added Gunn.
"I told the players it is one of the worst experiences you can have as a player and they will have to deal with that."
