Norwich City have signed midfielder Matthew Pattison on loan from manager Glenn Roeder's former club Newcastle until 1 January. The 21-year-old made 12 appearances for the Magpies last season.
"When I was Newcastle academy boss, I was told Matty would be the best player to come through into the first-team and I wasn't disappointed," said Roeder.
"When I became manager at Newcastle, I used him both as a substitute and starting a number of games."
