Norwich City have completed the signing of Stockport County defender Keith Briggs.

The protracted move has finally been agreed for a �65,000 fee, with Briggs agreeing a three-and-a-half-year deal at Carrow Road.

"We're delighted to have finally secured Keith's signature and would like to wish him all the best in his Norwich City career," Norwich chief executive Neil Doncaster told the club's website.

Briggs, 21, came through the youth-team ranks at Stockport and started 56 senior games for the club, including 30 in the First Division last season.

However, Hatters boss Carlton Palmer deemed the player surplus to requirements.

"Keith was on good money for the Second Division, so if he wasn't in the team he was an expensive substitute.

"I thought the offer was a good offer," Palmer told the County website.

Stockport have included a 30% sell-on clause in the deal.
