Vics appoint Redfearn as new boss
New Northwich Victoria manager Neil Redfearn
Redfearn had a rich and varied playing career
Northwich Victoria have appointed Neil Redfearn as their new manager, replacing Steve Burr who left in May.

Redfearn's playing career took in 12 clubs, including Barnsley, Charlton and Bradford in the Premier League.

The 41-year-old's previous managerial experience was a spell in charge of Scarborough in 2005-06.

"He's just the kind of coach we need at this stage of the team's development - and we also need to get into the play-offs," chairman Mike Connett said.

"Neil is the man who is going to do it for us on both counts."

Redfearn clocked up 1,000 competitive games as a player last season while turning out for Bradford Park Avenue in the Unibond First Division.

Former Norwich and Manchester City manager John Bond will continue in a consultancy role and work in conjunction with Redfearn.

"It's great news for both the team and the fans and something I believe will herald a whole new era of success for the club," Connett added.
