Curtis was brought into the club by former manager Stuart Gray in July
Northampton Town midfielder John Curtis believes the team's improvement is down to better training and manager Ian Sampson filling them with confidence.
The Cobblers are unbeaten in five games and are preparing for the League Two trip to Morecambe.
"I think he has instilled a lot of confidence in the players and I think that is coming to fruition now." Curtis told BBC Radio Northampton.
"Confidence is one of the things but the training has improved as well."
Sampson took over from Stuart Gray in early September.
He lost his first three games in caretaker charge but since then the Cobblers are undefeated.
"It took a little while because a lot of the lads were down but we're unbeaten in five now and doing well. Things have picked up nicely," said Curtis.
"Out on the training pitch not only are the sessions more enjoyable but the standard of training has been lifted and that's a credit to the manager."
