Guinan scored 70 goals over two spells for Hereford
Northampton Town's new striker Steve Guinan and defender John Curtis say that facing Chesterfield on Saturday will be an important game for the club.
Guinan told BBC Radio Northampton: "We've gone two games without scoring, and if we've got any aspirations of promotion, we must start winning games.
"It doesn't matter where the goals come from. But Chesterfield is a tough place to go."
Guinan scored twice in pre-season, against AFC Stamford and Brackley Town.
We haven't seen the best of the Northampton team yet

"We've got bags of ability and we can score from anywhere in the team. Hopefully that'll start on Saturday," Guinan added.
Defender John Curtis made his competitive debut for Northampton Town in the 2-0 loss to Southampton in the Carling Cup, after recovering from a side strain.
"It's important to go there and not get beaten. [Chesterfield striker] Jack Lester is one to watch, but if we can contain him and defend properly, maybe we can come away with a win," Curtis said.
"We haven't seen the best of the Northampton team yet. We've got some experienced and quality players that haven't played yet. If we can get them back from injury, the side will be a great deal stronger."
