Jackman has been Town's player of the year in the last two seasons
Northampton Town have rejected a written transfer request handed in by defender Danny Jackman.
The Cobblers' player of the year, 26, contacted chairman David Cardoza about a move on Tuesday, just days before the start of the new season.
"Danny has asked to leave in writing but we've said no," explained Cardoza.
"He is contracted to the club until the end of the season, and I've repeatedly turned down a number of offers made for him," he added.
"He's a true professional and while we understand his wish to play at a higher level, we hope he can start to achieve that aim by helping us to promotion this season," he said.
"Danny is a first-class player with a first-class attitude. I hope that on Saturday the Cobblers supporters show just how pleased we are to have him at the club, and give him a great reception against Macclesfield."
Jackman joined Northampton in May 2007 after spells with Stockport County and Gillingham.
