Frank Fielding was allowed back early from his loan spell

Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Frank Fielding has been released early from his loan spell with Northampton Town.

The 20-year-old was scheduled to head back to Ewood Park after the Cobblers' League One fixture at Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

But he was allowed home before the game, after making 15 League and Cup starts in Northampton colours.

Manager Stuart Gray said: "Frank made a good contribution to our season so far, and I thank him for his efforts."
