Bignall joined Northampton's training session on Tuesday
Northampton Town have signed Reading forward Nicholas Bignall on a month's loan to ease their injury crisis.
Bignall, 18, has come through the Reading academy and recently scored a hat-trick for the Royals' reserves.
"He is a young player with plenty of pace and he can play up front or out wide," said Cobblers boss Stuart Gray.
"Like all of their young players, he has had an excellent grounding at Reading and I think he can do a good job for us."
He added: "We have a number of injuries in the squad at the moment and I think Nicholas will be good for us and we can be good for him."
Northampton currently have Luke Guttridge, Ryan Gilligan, Colin Larkin, Abdul Osman and Liam Davis all on the sidelines at Sixfields.
"He first came to light when we saw him in the FA Youth Cup last season and he is highly rated at Reading so we are very grateful to Steve Coppell for loaning him to us for a month," Gray continued.
Bignall will be available for the FA Cup tie against Leeds United on Friday.
The match will be featured live on BBC Radio Northampton.
