Dyer (left) and Dolman are now contracted to Sixfields until 2009 |
Northampton have handed contract extensions to defender Liam Dolman and teenage midfielder Alex Dyer. Dolman, 20, was due to have his current deal expire at the end of December, but he has now signed a deal keeping him at Sixfields until the summer of 2009.
Dyer, 17, has had his scholarship upgraded to a professional contract and is also now contracted until 2009.
Meanwhile, the Cobblers have extended Bristol City midfielder Alex Russell's loan for a third month.
The 34-year-old has made 10 appearances for Northampton so far.
Of the two youngsters signing new deals, Doolman has made 12 league and cup appearances this season, while Dyer has featured three times.
"Both of these new contracts are fully deserved," Cobblers manager Stuart Gray told his club's website.
