Martins joined Newcastle from Inter for 10m in 2006
Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg have completed the signing of striker Obafemi Martins from Newcastle on a four-year contract.
Martins scored 35 times for Newcastle, but could not prevent his side's relegation to the Championship.
"I'm delighted that the transfer has worked out," said the 24-year-old.
"The Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in the world and I'm very happy to be playing for the German champions. This is a massive challenge."
Martins was signed by former Magpies boss Glenn Roeder in 2006 after four seasons with Inter Milan.
He will join a forward line including Grafite and Edin Dzeko, who combined for a Bundesliga record 54 goals last season as Wolfsburg clinched their first title.
"He's exactly the kind of player we have been looking for to compliment Grafite and Edin Dzeko," said Wolfsburh coach Armin Veh.
"He's not only very fast, but he has also proven that he is dangerous in front of goal.
"As he can also be used in a wide position, we have the option now of playing with two or even three strikers. Considering how young he still, he has already gathered a great deal of experience in Italy and England."
