Mark Reynolds is keen for another crack at Europe after Motherwell's too-brief foray into the Uefa Cup this season.
The 21-year-old Well defender made his 100th first-team appearance in the 2-0 victory over Hamilton at the weekend.
"I've had the experience of playing in Europe and I want to taste that again," Reynolds told BBC Sport.
"To get back to third spot, we'll have to improve our performances and get back to the level of football we were playing last year."
The Lanarkshire side lost 3-0 on aggregate to French outfit Nancy in the first round proper of the Uefa Cup in October.
Reynolds passed the century milestone at Fir Park in only his third season at the club having been handed his debut by former manager Terry Butcher at the tail-end of the 2005/06 season.
Previous Motherwell manager Maurice Malpas made him a regular fixture at centre-half and he has established himself as a lynchpin of the Motherwell central defence alongside Stephen Craigan.
I've played 100 games out of a possible 105, so it's great for me and it's great to have that level of consistency in my game
Mark Reynolds
The young defender has started every game he has played and would have made a century of appearances in a row but for a red card received away to Dunfermline two seasons ago.
"I've played 100 games out of a possible 105, so it's great for me and it's great to have that level of consistency in my game," Reynolds said.
"It would've been nice if they'd been consecutive, but you've just got to look at the positives and it's still a hundred games.
"You hope to play as many games as you can, but I didn't think it would come this quick. Hopefully, I can notch up another milestone sooner rather than later."
Reynolds was a summer target for Rangers, who failed with a 750,000 bid for the player in June.
Well boss Mark McGhee was quick to reject the bid from the Ibrox side and Reynolds has played down any talk of exiting Fir Park in the near future.
"As long as I'm getting my game here, I'm happy to play and, until that changes, I'll be a Motherwell player as long as I need to be," he said
Reynolds, who played at last summer's Under-20 World Cup, harbours aspirations to represent Scotland at senior level.
"There's no reason why not," he said. "David Clarkson's been called in and I think, if I keep playing well at Motherwell, and keep proving myself in the SPL then hopefully something will happen sooner rather than later."
