O'Donnell has been dogged by injuries throughout his career | Motherwell midfielder Phil O'Donnell has signed a new one-year contract as a player-coach at Fir Park despite his injury problems. The 35-year-old former Celtic star has been out of action since August after undergoing Achilles surgery. Manager Maurice Malpas told the club website: "We will retain his experience and high standards as a player. "And as a coach he will help to develop youngsters, whilst training and playing with them."
