Michael Twiss has left League Two Morecambe after 230 games in six years.
The Salford-born midfielder, who began his career as a trainee with Manchester United, joins defender Danny Adams who was released on Wednesday.
"I have been in and out of the side over the past two years," Twiss told the club's official website.
"I'm 32 now and just want to play regularly. But I've had a great time at the club and the fans really do play their part."
Twiss joined Morecambe from Chester in 2004 after making 67 appearances for the Deva Stadium side.
I will hopefully be back at the club to see people soon and will definitely go to see the new stadium when it is built
Michael Twiss
He helped the Shrimps win promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history in 2007.
"Wembley was an obvious highlight but the year I scored 27 goals in the Conference was superb," said Twiss.
"It is hard to pick out one special game but I remember scoring twice at Cambridge United on a really good afternoon.
"I will hopefully be back at the club to see people soon and will definitely go to see the new stadium when it is built."
Vice-chairman Graham Hodgson added: "Michael has been a superb servant to Morecambe.
"He came to us and asked if he'd be allowed to leave before the end of the season and after discussing the matter with him and Sammy McIlroy [Morecambe manager] we agreed to his request."
