The new stadium will incorporate seating for 2,100 spectators
Chief executive Rod Taylor believes Morecambe could receive planning permission "in a short space of time" for their new 6,800 seater stadium.
The multi-million pound facility, which will replace Christie Park, could be ready in time for the start of the 2009/10 season.
"Next season will be our last at Christie Park if things go to plan," Taylor told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"Although it's well kept Christie Park is dated," said the chief executive.
We look forward to more success next season, but the main aim this time round was to be in League Two

Taylor also feels the financial benefits of moving to a new stadium in the Westgate area of the town far outweighs any sentiment.
"We're limited on the corporate areas which means we can't earn money every day of the week," said Taylor.
"The new stadium will also have tremendous community facilities, something which has been a big part of our club over recent years."
Despite missing out on the League Two play-offs and failing to get to the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Taylor was keen to focus on the positives from their first season in the Football League.
"I think to reach the Northern Final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy was a great achievement," added Taylor.
"And we also have some great memories of beating Preston in the Carling Cup at Deepdale, as well as going to Molineux and coming away with a 3-1 win.
"Those are memories that will live in the mind for a long time. We look forward to more success next season, but the main aim this time round was to be in League Two."
