Morecambe assistant manager Mark Lillis has reaffirmed the club's desire to reach the play-offs.

The Shrimps are 10th in League Two and lie three points off the play-offs ahead of facing Grimsby on Saturday.

Lillis told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We're in a great position and if we'd been offered that at the start of the season we'd have taken it.

"It's tight up there and if any team below us puts a run together they'll be thinking of the play-offs."

You've got to keep going and keep believing

Lillis also feels the club's initial target of 50 points from their first season in the Football League shows they have acquitted themselves well.

"If we feel any player's thinking 'I'll book my holidays' then they'll be out," he added.

"You've got to keep going and keep believing and everyone has got to be positive."
