"It was super to get our first point on the board - I would have settled for that prior to the game," he said.

"Joe Lewis made a world-class save to keep us in it, and David Artell and Jim Bentley were tremendous at the back.

"The game was a learning curve. We will need to make improvements in the final third, but that will come."
