Middlesbrough match-winner Tarmo Kink claims that manager Gordon Strachan was right to drop him from the starting line up in their 2-1 win over Burnley.

Substitute Kink scored both goals in Tuesday's win, including a spectacular last-minute free kick.

He told BBC Tees: "I started in the first three games but I was tired and the coach had seen this.

"In the last game against QPR I wasn't myself so he gave me a rest and I think it was the right decision."

He continued: "I was fresh, my head was fresh. It's the best feeling I've ever had in Middlesbrough.

"It's not every day I score a goal like this. But the most important thing was winning the game.

"Everyone can see that we've not had a perfect five games so we needed this win."
