Middlesbrough have signed strikers Scott McDonald and Lee Miller, wrapping up a busy January at the Riverside.

Australia's McDonald joined from Celtic and Scot Miller from Aberdeen as Boro boss Gordon Strachan took his tally of transfer window signings to seven.

Strachan has brought in five players from his former club Celtic, following the arrivals of Stephen McManus, Barry Robson, Willo Flood and Chris Killen.

Boro have also signed Tottenham full-back Kyle Naughton on loan.

Melbourne-born McDonald has scored 51 league goals in 88 games for the Hoops and is hoping to play for Australia in the World Cup this summer.

Miller has struck double figures in his last two seasons with the Dons and won his second Scotland cap in November.

Strachan is looking to add firepower to a side which has fallen four points behind the play-offs after only one win in five league games.

The duo will also help fill the gaps left by the deadline-day departures of Adam Johnson to Manchester City and Mido to West Ham on loan.
