Middlesbrough striker Marlon King has called on his team-mates to "make the Riverside a fortress", starting with Saturday's visit of Blackburn Rovers.
The 28-year-old, who made his debut in Wednesday's 2-0 defeat by Chelsea, has also backed the club's fans to create an intimidating atmosphere on Teesside.
He told BBC Tees: "We've got to make it difficult for teams to get results.
"The supporters are behind us and everyone associated will do what they can to keep the club in the division."
The defeat at Chelsea saw the striker, on-loan from Wigan until the end of the season, installed as a lone striker at Stamford Bridge.
And despite a disappointing evening result-wise, King enjoyed his bow and is keen to play his part in the club's relegation run-in.
"All the games are tough and the boys are bitterly disappointed with the result and the two goals," he said.
"When the boss asked me to come here he asked me if I was up for a challenge and I'm definitely that, I'm 110% committed to Middlesbrough.
"I just want to play, I love playing football."
The Jamaican international joined Wigan from Watford for 5m in January 2007.
