Jonathan Woodgate wants to see out his season-long loan deal at Middlesbrough, despite reports from Spain that Real Madrid want to cut it short. Real boss Fabio Capello is believed to want him back but Woodgate is keen to stay at his hometown club.
England defender Woodgate, 26, told The People: "I'm here for the season and I'm happy and proud to honour that.
"While I can't say where I will be playing this time next year I'm not going to leave now."

Woodgate moved from the Bernabeu to Middlesbrough in August and has galvanised Boro's defence in his 16 appearances for the club.
The Middlesbrough-born defender has been largely free of the injuries that led to him making less than 20 appearances over two seasons.

Madrid have indicated a willingness to sell Woodgate and Boro are believed to have first option on the former Leeds and Newcastle defender.
However, the club are fourth from bottom in the Premiership and their poor form this season means they may not be able to match Woodgate's ambitions.
"I know I'm not going to win the title or the Champions League and if I went back to Real Madrid I could," added Woodgate.
"And it is difficult because I like all the players here and it's always been my ambition to play for Middlesbrough - but I want to win medals and trophies."
