Injury-plagued Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu faces a further lengthy spell on the sidelines after damaging medial ligaments against Everton. Ehiogu faces six weeks in a brace to stabilise his knee, followed by several more weeks rehabilitation.
A Boro spokesman confirmed: "Ugo has damaged medial ligaments and will be in a brace for six weeks, we will review the situation after that."
Ehiogu, 32, has started only three Premiership games this season.
News of Ehiogu's injury is a further blow to Boro boss Steve McClaren who is rapidly running short of defensive cover.
Hamstring injury victim Chris Riggott faces a further two weeks in the treatment room, while Andrew Davies was injured in the first game of his month's loan spell at Queens Park Rangers.
Michael Reiziger is doubtful for the trip to Norwich, while Stuart Parnaby is still on the road to recovery after injury.
Boro's injury problems have given veteran Colin Cooper, 38, a chance to perform heroically alongside stalwart skipper Gareth Southgate.
McClaren may be forced to turn to youngsters Matthew Bates and David Wheater to provide the back-up.
