Middlesbrough suffer Ehiogu blow
Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu
Middlesbrough defender Ugo Ehiogu will be out for "some time" after sustaining knee ligament damage during their 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday.

Ehiogu, starting only his third league game this season, limped off 17 minutes into the first half after an accidental clash with Boro keeper Mark Schwarzer.

The former England centre-back had just returned from a niggling calf problem.

Ehiogu's injury leaves captain Gareth Southgate and Colin Cooper as Boro's only experienced fit centre-backs.

Chris Riggott has been ruled out of Saturday's trip to Norwich with a hamstring strain and is expected to remain sidelined for at least another couple of weeks.

In addition, fellow defender Michael Reiziger has injured his little toe and is struggling for the weekend, although it has not been confirmed whether there is a fracture.
