Rhys Day agrees permanent Mansfield Town deal

Mansfield Town centre-half Rhys Day has signed a permanent deal which will keep him at Field Mill until June 2012.

The 28-year-old, who first played for the Stags from 2003-2006, initially returned on loan on a short-term contract from Oxford in October.

Day helped the U's win promotion to the Football League last season but failed to earn a regular place this term.

He said: "I'm buzzing. It's seven years since I put pen to paper for the first time and now I am back again."

Former Manchester City trainee Day, who has made seven appearances for the Stags since his return, added: "This is a club geared for success, wants success all round and it's about time we got some."
