Mansfield Town have re-signed Luton Town goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington on loan until January.

The 36-year-old, who played 167 games for the Stags in a five-year spell from 2000, will provide cover for injured duo Alan Marriott and Mikhel Aksalu.

Loan recruit Aksalu is out for up to three weeks with a stomach injury and has returned to Sheffield United while Marriott has a groin problem.

Boss David Holdsworth said: "I had to act quickly and am delighted."

Pilkington, who has played just two games in the Blue Square Bet Premier after joining the Hatters in the summer, is likely to play in Saturday's home game against Crawley Town.
