Mansfield Town have re-signed veteran defender Steve Foster and recruited former Oxford left-back Kevin Sandwith.

Foster started out at Town but left 17 years ago and was at Bristol Rovers, Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Darlington and most recently Blyth Spartans.

The 35-year-old said: "As a Mansfield supporter, I know how much this club means to the fans and the community."

Sandwith, 32, was released by Oxford following their Blue Square Premier play-off final win.

Manager David Holdsworth said: "Steve will bring a great determination and knowledge to our defence.

"Kevin shows the attributes of reliability and durability. He brings great knowledge to our back four."

The free transfer deals will both go through on 1 July.
