Ahmed has faith in new Stags boss

Mansfield Town

On-loan midfielder Adnan Ahmed believes Mansfield Town's new manager David Holdsworth will do well at Field Mill.

Holdsworth replaces Billy McEwan, who was sacked after just six months.

Ahmed told BBC Radio Nottingham: "He seems very disciplined and he's already talking about body fats so he's putting down a marker straight away.

"He's been hands-on from the start so that's a good sign. It's up to us to help and I'm sure he'll do a good job."

Ahmed has scored twice in ten games while on loan from Tranmere but his spell with the Stags is almost up.

"Everything's gone well for me personally. The lads are a fantastic bunch and the managers who have been here have been excellent, the chairman's been really good and the fans too.

"I would like to stay if the opportunity came up. We'll just see, but if Real Madrid come in I'll have to go there!" he said.
